Winter Wedding Trends for 2019

Jewel Tones

Celebrate the seasonal color palette at your winter wedding
by incorporating burgundies, bottle greens and amber tones into your huge day.

Don’t simply stop at the winter wedding décor: why not
choose those colors for your bridesmaids’ dresses, groomsmen’s bowties, or
even, in an adorning sash for your gown?

Smaller, Easier Wedding Cakes

For your winter wedding, a straightforward bake with dripped icing, vines or winter florals, and edible fruit ornamentation can feel nostalgic and sweet.

Fabrics

A wedding dress can be both modern and sensible for colder
weather. Opt for cashmere, delicate knits and even capes, in your chosen color.

Decorating Ceilings/Walls

As wedding florists, one of our favorite winter wedding trends is ceiling decoration. Go beyond traditional uplighting, by hanging flowers, foliage lined hoops, berries and moss-covered branches.

This is particularly effective in marquees,  but it’s important to measure ceiling heights
(so guests do not feel overcrowded by the busy dance floor and decorated
ceiling).

Comfort Food

Delight your guests with seasonal culinary offerings. Among our favorite winter wedding trends: berry-filled pies, stews, soups.

If keeping guests warm is a priority, traditional selections
such as coq au vin, or, place a spin on a classic, like turning a beef stew
into an elegant main course.

Alcoholic Treats

Why not select liquor-filled truffles as favors? Alcohol,
paired with chocolate go notoriously well together and bring an indulgent bite.

Pro tip: Focus on spirits, Bailey’s and strong drink kind
flavors.

Coffee Bars

Rather than a high-top bar, create a relaxing lounge space (think sofas, a fire pit), where guests will take the load off their feet and savor a hot drink: good for the season. Alternately, a tea bar can be just as great for that cozy ambiance.
